iOS Location Reporting: Important Change in Version 2.37.3+

How to enable 'Always' location access in Cigo Tracker on iOS 2.37.3 and later.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Applies to: Cigo Tracker Mobile App (iOS)
Version: 2.37.3 and later

What Changed

Starting in iOS version 2.37.3, Apple requires that all apps allow users to log in and operate even if they do not enable background location reporting.

This means:

  • The Cigo Tracker app can no longer enforce the “Always” location permission automatically.

  • If the permission is disabled, real-time location reporting will not work, which can affect order tracking for customers and dispatch visibility for operators.

How to Check Your Location Settings

If location reporting isn’t working as expected:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.

  2. Scroll down and select Cigo Tracker.

  3. Tap Location.

  4. Make sure it’s set to Always.

Why This Is Important

Accurate, real-time location reporting is essential for:

  • Customers tracking their orders in the Web Tracker.

  • Dispatch teams monitoring routes and operations.

Without the “Always” setting enabled, background location updates will be interrupted, especially when the app is minimized or the screen is locked.

Tip: If you reinstall the app or update iOS, double-check this setting to ensure uninterrupted location tracking.
