Learn more about our new scanning feature

Updated over a year ago

We are very excited to introduce you to a new feature we've just released: scanning!

Our team has been working on this feature for a while and we are thrilled to finally share it with our customers. We think you're going to love it!

Scanning will notably allow you to:

  • Scan to pick (Scan to load): Enabling this functionality will allow operators to scan barcode and validate that they are included in their assigned routes. Scanning progress can be validated in the "Actions list" page.

  • Scan to complete: Enabling scan to complete in your operator’s app will allow them to complete an action by scanning any shipping label barcode related to the Job they are currently fulfilling.

Interested in learning more? Take a look at the frequently asked questions below:

- What types of barcodes are supported by the scanner? Code 128, Code 39? Etc.: The following types are supported across both iOS and Android: UPCE, Code39, Code93, Code128, Ean8, Ean13, PDF417, ITF, DataMatrix, QR.

- Are there guidelines on physical print sizing for the barcodes? Using our label printing functionality, the labels would be printed: 4in x 6in

- If the barcode is damaged/missing, is there a way for the driver to enter a code manually? The scanning functionality allows the operator to manually enter the barcode if it is damaged or unclear.

- Can a driver scan on and off the truck for each job type? (i.e. pickups and deliveries) Yes, scanning functionality works accross all job types.

- Are there any API endpoints dedicated to the barcode scanning operations that we might trigger manually? You could manually create/modify Actions via Cigo Tracker API.

- Are there any properties related to barcode scanning operations that will end up available to us when we call /jobs/id/{jobID}/actions, for example? Only the actual barcode number + properties were entered manually by the Operator/Driver will be available per Action.
